What's bleed? (and when to touch this dropdown)
Printers don't cut paper perfectly, so artwork that should reach the page edge is extended
slightly past the cut line — that extra strip is the bleed. It gets trimmed off.
The dropdown never changes your book; it only tells the guide lines where the cut line is so
they're measured from the right spot.
Leave it on Auto-detect. It measures your file and figures out the bleed on its own.
Only pick manually if the detect line above shows a red “size not recognized” warning:
choose KDP bleed (3 sides) if you built the file to KDP's bleed spec,
Full bleed (all 4 sides) if it came out of Canva's “include bleed” export,
or No bleed if your artwork stops at the page edge.
